Ezra Kanoho named 2009 Professional of the Year in Legislative Consulting

LIHUE, HI, March 26, 2010 /24-7PressRelease/ --Ezra Kanoho, Principal of Kanoho Consulting Service, has been recognized by Cambridge Who's Who for demonstrating dedication, leadership and excellence in legislative consulting.

Backed by nearly 50 years of industry experience, Ezra Kanoho is uniquely positioned to oversee Kanoho Consulting Service, a legislative consultancy with a focus on community relations. In addition to supporting projects and attracting legislative assistance, Mr. Kanoho utilizes his expertise to consult on legislative processes pertaining to education and energy issues.

Prior to establishing Kanoho Consulting Service, Mr. Kanoho served in the Hawaii State Legislature until 2006 - experience that laid the foundation for the remainder of his career. He is a member of the Democratic Party and has maintained affiliation with the Hawaii State House of Representatives of the Hawaii State Legislature since 1987. During his tenure, he represented the 15th representative district, which includes the Lihue and Koloa areas on the island of Kauai. His professional history boasts such titles as director of Hoolo Lahui Hawaii (from 2007 to the present), director of SLKI/Kawaikini School (2006 to the present), director of Alu Like-Kauai (from 1986 to 1996), director and vice president of the Kauai Economic Development Board (from 1985 to 1987) and director of the Hawaii Visitors Bureau-Kauai (from 1984 to 1987), to name just a few. He has also served with organizations including the American Society of Safety Engineers and the United Way of Kauai.

Recognized for his trustworthiness and respectful nature, he will seek to continue consulting for nonprofit organizations and charter schools on the topics of community health and education as he moves forward in his career. Mr. Kanoho holds a degree in occupational safety from Honolulu Community College.
